How Dirt Trade Works
Dirt Trade is an online marketplace for moving earth materials around the Treasure Valley: Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Eagle, Kuna, Star, and Middleton. Contractors and property owners post what they have or what they need, and nearby people can find them.
1. Post a HAVE or NEED listing
- HAVE: You have extra material to move.
- NEED: You're looking for material for a project.
Materials include dirt, fill dirt, pit run, 3/4" gravel, road base, rock, topsoil, and sand.
2. Add the details
Give the material type, approximate quantity, general location, timing, and whether you can deliver or need pickup. Photos and honest descriptions help others decide.
3. Connect and agree on terms
Interested parties contact each other. Price (or no charge), quantity, hauling, and timing are agreed directly between you.
4. Move the material
You coordinate the hauling. Before anything moves, confirm site access, permission from the property owner, and any local permits or rules that apply.
Good practices
- Describe material accurately. Only call it "clean fill" if it has no trash, debris, or contaminants.
- Confirm specs for gravel and road base if a project has requirements.
- Check city or county rules for grading, fill, or disposal.
